UVA President Beardsley Visits Virginia Polo

University of Virginia's President Scott Beardsley made a visit to the Virginia Polo Center in early October to meet the players and Head Coach & Program Director Parker Pearce, and learn more about the program.

Mr. Beardsley had a keen interest in how the polo center is run and about the students' participation in caring for the horses.

Along with meeting the players, he witnessed our alumni support first hand as Dan Colhoun and Rob Rinehart both joined us to welcome our VIP visitors to the club.

President Beardsley shared the wonderful photos below on his social media accounts, reaching a large audience at the University of Virginia. The caption he included below the images captures the nature of Virginia Polo perfectly:

“On Friday, I had the pleasure of visiting @VirginiaPoloClub. It was so great to tour both the indoor and outdoor arenas, meet UVA players from the club and varsity teams, adn even watch a practice chukker. Also enjoyed meeting the legendary Dan Calhoun, UVA Class of ‘58 alum and founding member of Virginia Polo.

A deep thanks to Virginia Polo, Inc. for their hospitality—it was indrecible to learn about their mission of making the sport affordable and accessible to UVA students, high schoolers, and young polo enthusiasts across Charlottesville—all while UVA Polo holds claim to 23 National Championship titles! #wahoowa”

We are so grateful President Beardsley and his staff took the time to visit the Virginia Polo Center and get to know some of the students who benefit from the program.

President Beardsley said he looks forward to a victory photo of the steps of Madison Hall with the teams in the future, we do as well!
